We made these custom shelves to go with our high performace GTV gang tool lathe
The customer has put them to good use.
In today’s lean manufacturing shops, people like to have all the tools close at hand. They’ll need space for that or maybe they just need more space to stack egg cartons to store all those small finished parts…etc. Creating shelves for our machines is just a small way to make sure no space is wasted.
Angled Drilling on GTV Gang Tool Lathe
The gang tool plate on our lathes make it easy to come up with creative solutions to solve customer’s problems at a low cost.
Here’s an example of angled drilling with live tools on the GTV. Try doing this with a turreted lathe cheaply!

What it looks like with live tools mounted (We used 60,000 rpm air-driven spindles from NSK)
GTV has ultra responsive C-axis main spindle that makes working with live tools a cinch.

In this particular application, we delivered cycle time that beat all other competitors in the customer’s industry.
Sorry, but we couldn’t show you the actual tooling used in this video clip. It did involve custom designed cutter for simultaneous 3 axis ID cutting and couple of live tools for cross drilling.
